Abbaye de la Ferté Venue
Near Villefranche-sur-Saône south of Lyon, this Cistercian monastery anchors itself in gardens with original stonework and a Romanesque cloister. A chapter house with ribbed vaulting and a twelfth-century refectory remain intact; guest rooms occupy converted cells with high ceilings and deep windows. The venue accepts 60 to 140 guests and infuses celebrations with the contemplative spatial logic of monastic design—processional axes, the interplay of cloister and nave, and the integration of water features into sacred geometry.
