Girona is the town they used to film medieval dramas before medieval dramas became everyone's watch-list obsession. The Onyar River reflects the old town's pastel-painted buildings, the cathedral climbs impossibly high on a stone staircase, and the city feels like it's been staged specifically to appeal to people with architectural good taste.
Weddings suit May and September—June onwards the tourists arrive in waves. The cathedral courtyard offers a ceremony location. The old town's narrow streets provide a walking route.
